The benefits to using a Turbosmart Blow Off Valve (BOV) instead of the factory Bypass Valve (BPV) is endless. Mainly, the OE BPV is constructed of plastic and is controlled by the ECU. This causes a few serious issues, the most problematic of which can be inconsistent manifold pressure which causes the ECU to limit boost and that can change your torque management and effect your performance. The Turbosmart Dual Port BOV converts the OE system to a mechanically operated valve that is purely controlled by the throttle only and pressure differential. Your ECU will no longer be able to open the valve when it wants to use it for boost limiting. Your original bypass valve does not 100% seal the inside the intake. This results in a small amount of manifold pressure actually not getting to the motor and just bypassing. Your OE BPV also has the ability to crack open further when boost is increased, resulting in significant losses in power. This Ford Mustang blow off valve completely seals off that section of the intake ensuring that all possible manifold pressure is there for the motor to help spool your turbo and increase overall response.
